Hello partners! Today we’re sitting down with John O’Reilly, founder and creative director of Monster Racing League.
Chris: Monsters of the monster racing league handle your driving. This is great! What technology guides auto-navigation and gameplay?
John: Monster Racing League is a non-driving multiplayer car racing game. One of our key design features is strategic racing with multiple layers of stats, abilities, boosters, and track layouts and monster conditions that work together to create challenging gameplay. We have developed and are further expanding a custom AI driving simulation so that different monsters can drive intelligently while retaining a good sense of player agency, allowing them to focus on using their skills during the race. We want our players to scream at the screen for all the right reasons!
Chris: This implies that he didn’t want investors to focus on sailing. What will be the role that the investor will play? How do they participate in the game?
John: Balancing pre-race setup and timing of skill usage during a race will be critical to success. Players strategically equip skills and consumables to use during the run to suit their playstyle. As they compete, they choose the perfect moment to use abilities like weapons, shields, smoke, and boost cards to take down their opponents. It really is a lot of fun and since we already have a playable demo version of the game available, you can start practicing and honing your skills now.
Chris: Also, what will be the benefits for the investor once they buy a Monster Racing League token?
John: By participating in the Monster Racing League mint, investors buy an entire container, not just an NFT. The containers come with an Origin monster, 1-2 abilities like missile, shield, smoke, etc., a boost pack that gives you 20, 50 or 100 consumable cards that give you an advantage in a race, a custom vehicle to change the skin of your car with a chance to get 1 of 98 epic cosmetics or 1 of 5 legendary cosmetics and a chance to get 1 of only 20 ultra rare tracks that give you passive rewards. This means that you not only get 1 NFT but at least 4 NFT in each container.
Chris: More importantly, what are the characteristics of the token? How have the designers made each tile unique?
John: What’s so special about the 10,000 containers is that each of the 10,000 Origin Monsters available within them is unique with different traits and rarity. You also have different cosmetics for vehicles with different rarity levels, including epic and legendary. There are also Boost Packs that give you a head start in a race, special abilities, and a chance to get 1 of 20 ultra rare tracks that give you passive rewards when players race them.
Chris: Similarly, what will be the price of each Monster Racing League NFT? What percentage of the cost would go to gasoline?
John: The price of each container is yet to be confirmed, but since the minting is done at Polygon, the gas rates will be extremely low.
Chris: Likewise, how do you get whitelisted for pre-sale to get a price benefit?
John: The best way to get whitelisted is to join our Discord. We have many different ways for people to whitelist: from contests to giveaways for active members of the community, as well as competing with the playable version of the game and climbing the leaderboard! On our Discord, we also have an Ambassadors program for people to join if they want to get more involved in the project, allowing them to help spread the word about Monster Racing League around the world. Chris: So what are your plans for the future of Monster Racing League tokens? What are the additional new features coming in 2022?
John: We have a lot to come! Shortly after minting, using our patented chromosome breeding system, you will be able to breed 2 monsters to create a new monster with different speed, skill, reaction stats, and different colors and visual traits. Some players will spawn to get the best looking monster and others to get the best racing champion. It’s going to be so much fun to see the results people get!
But we won’t stop there! We will also have monster rentals coming soon through our own marketplace which is currently under development so that everyone has a chance to play and win. You will also be able to buy and sell monsters in the market. In terms of the game itself, we have special scheduled events, seasonal tournaments, new tracks, new vehicle cosmetics, and much, much more.
Development of the game is underway with a playable single player demo version available now. All of these future plans on the roadmap are not years away like many other Play 2 Earn games, they are already planned and being developed for release shortly after the full game release.
Chris: In the end, we would like you to share the minting process with your future investors.
